Trip 8 - Double Arch Trail Distance: 0.4 miles round trip Elevation Change: 5120/5200 feet Suited For: Walk Difficulty: Easy Hazards: Negligible Introduction: This easy and highly scenic stroll is suitable for hikers of every ability. Double Arch, above the trail's end is the second largest natural rock opening in the park. It's eastern arch spans 160 feet between abutments and rises 105 feet above the ground. The smaller western arch opens into the Cove of Caves, and is 60 feet wide and 61 feet high. June 3, 2003 Nothing more to say other than "damn is it hot!"
